This alternative to the Google Chrome browser lets you control your internet searches with your voice.

Comet is a browser developed by Perplexity that uses artificial intelligence to automate tasks, summarize content, and perform quick searches. Based on Chromium, it offers an experience similar to Google Chrome, combining traditional search with AI-generated answers. However, unlike Google Chrome, Comet allows users to activate voice control to open websites or browse the internet.

Thanks to voice control, users can manage the browser using their voices. This is because the tool runs on the latest OpenAI model for real-time processing, using gpt-realtime-1.5, which is specifically designed for low-latency voice agents.

This results in reduced execution errors when requesting an action from the browser, as it accurately captures voice commands, allowing Comet to perform tasks such as scrolling down, opening links, and summarizing pages.

Following this new development, the Comet browser adopts a privacy policy that processes audio only when necessary and does not store it in browsing history or the cloud by default. Furthermore, according to Digital Trends, the browser does not create ad tracking profiles.

Regarding the availability of this feature, Comet browser users on computers can try the audio mode by pressing Shift + Alt + V on Windows or Shift + Option + V on Mac. iOS users will have to wait a few more days to enjoy this new feature.
