One of the Cloud's most useful features is now free for all... Goodbye, ChatGPT

Anthropic recently added an update to the free version of its Cloud software, including one of the most important features of the paid versions. Now, users of the chatbot can import data from competing platforms, such as ChatGPT and Gemini, for free. This update saves users from starting from scratch and alleviates one of the biggest challenges of transitioning to a new AI system.

The ability to import data from ChatGPT, Gemini, and other chatbots was available in Cloud subscriptions in 2025, but it was hidden from free users. Fortunately, Anthropic now offers a simple option to make the transition to its AI system easier.

It's no coincidence that the free version of Cloud now allows importing data from other AI bots. This became evident after the recent dispute between Anthropic and OpenAI over adding ads to ChatGPT. It's likely that Dario Amode's team is looking to capitalize on this opportunity to attract potential new users by allowing them to upload instruction logs, contexts, and other elements from projects they've previously used in other applications.

Importing data from other chatbots into Cloud is incredibly simple. Anthropic provides a ready-made template designed to extract and format information into a block of code for analysis and processing. For the user, it's very easy: simply copy and paste the instructions into Gemini or ChatGPT, then copy and paste the response into Cloud.

How to import ChatGPT or Gemini memory into the free version of Cloud

As we mentioned, this is a very simple process. First, you need to log in to your free cloud account, then go to the menu in the bottom left corner of the screen. Next, click on "Settings" and then go to the "Abilities" section.

In this section, you'll find Cloud Memory options, including the ability to import it from other AI systems. To do this, click the "Start Import" button and copy the on-screen instructions. The instructions are in English, but they essentially ask ChatGPT, Gemini, or other service providers to export all saved content, including memories and context, while preserving your original words as much as possible. They also ask that all data be saved with its specific dates, maintaining its order within the defined categories.

By entering this command into other chatbots, a block of code will be created that users must copy and paste into Cloud. It's important to note that the information is pasted into the same window from which the instructions were copied, in a box that appears at the bottom of the window.

After that, simply click the "Add to Memory" button, and Claude will be able to use your context from other chatbots. This is undoubtedly a useful tool, and it's now available to those who use Anthropic's free AI on a daily basis.
