Delete Facebook account permanently
Facebook remains one of the world's largest social media platforms. However, many users choose to leave the platform permanently due to privacy concerns, digital well-being goals, or changing online habits. Here I am talking about deleting the account permanently from the platform without return.
Some users prefer to delete their accounts because they want greater control over their personal data and online activity.
Facebook serves billions of users worldwide and continues to be one of the most widely used social networking platforms. So, in the following paragraph, I will show you some steps that must be followed if you want to permanently delete your Facebook account.
Difference Between Deactivating and Permanently Deleting a Facebook Account
Account Deactivation
Permanent Account Deletion
How to Permanently Delete a Facebook Account
You can permanently delete your account from Facebook by following some of the following steps:
- Open Facebook and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- You will be shown some information before removing the account, such as deactivation, transfer of information, and downloading information.
- If you ignore all these options, you will find the delete account button in blue at the bottom.
- After clicking on Delete My Account, another window will appear to confirm your request.
- Then you will re-enter your account password.
- Finally, a window will appear informing you that your account has been temporarily suspended for 14 days, and if this period is exceeded, your account will be permanently deleted.
- Avoid logging back into the account during the deletion grace period, as doing so may cancel the deletion request.
Go to Settings & Privacy.
Select Settings.
Open Accounts Center.
Choose Personal Details.
Select Account Ownership and Control.
Click Deactivation or Deletion.
Choose Delete Account.
Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm your request.
How to Cancel a Facebook Account Deletion Request
Facebook allows users to cancel a pending deletion request during the available grace period before the account is permanently removed. If you change your mind, you can cancel the deletion request you made. This is done in a very simple way, which is by opening the Facebook website and re-entering your personal data to log in normally. When you open the account, you will find a button to cancel deleting the account. Click on it and you will find your account in front of you again without any problem.
What Happens After Deleting Your Facebook Account?
Your Facebook profile will no longer be visible to other users.
Photos, posts, and personal information will be removed from public view.
Facebook login services connected to third-party apps may stop working.
Messenger access may be limited or removed depending on account status.
Once the deletion process is completed, the account generally cannot be restored
Important Before Deleting Your Account
Before deleting your Facebook account, consider downloading a copy of your photos, videos, messages, and other personal data. Once the deletion process is completed, recovering this information may not be possible.
