Samsung has released a new and important app that everyone should download to their Android phones.
For many people who get motion sickness, traveling by car, bus, or plane can be uncomfortable. This can happen when they use their phone, read, or even just move around in the vehicle. People with this kind of illness may feel sick, sweat a lot, and feel dizzy. So, to help with these symptoms, many big tech companies are working on ways to stop motion sickness from happening during these activities. Samsung is one of these companies, and they just came out with a new app to help with these problems.
According to the Korean company , the Hearapy app is designed to reduce motion sickness using sound. The app works by playing a low-frequency tone (100 Hz) for approximately 60 seconds at a specific volume level. The company explains that this sound stimulates the balance system in the inner ear, making the body more tolerant of motion sickness. The company claims that the effects of the sound can last for up to two hours after listening to it.
The app is based on a study conducted by Nagoya University in Japan, which analyzed the most suitable sounds for optimizing audio balance. Based on the study's findings, Samsung implemented this concept in its most advanced earbuds, such as the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. These earbuds are designed to reproduce sound with high accuracy thanks to audio enhancement technologies like noise cancellation and automatic volume adjustment.
However, the app isn't limited to these headphones. 9to5Google tested it on other headphones and found it successful, although the sound might initially seem strange or even jarring due to its powerful bass. This app is similar to a feature Apple previously released for iPhones, but in that case, Apple used on-screen visuals to reduce motion sickness.
