Disable this feature on your phone to free up 7GB of storage without losing anything

Disable this feature on your phone to free up 7GB of storage without losing anything.

You download apps and games and back up photos on your Android device until you get a "low storage space" message, which is really one of the most annoying things because it negatively affects your phone's performance.

Then you start looking for ways to free up space on your phone. It's always best to clean up unnecessary files and clear app caches, as well as uninstall programs you no longer use or that consume a lot of device resources.

However, there is a service available on modern devices from Samsung, Xiaomi, Google Pixel, and other brands. This service is called "AI Core," and it's a tool that takes up a lot of storage space; removing it can free up disk space.

What is AI Core, and why should you remove it from your Android device?

Currently, most mid-range or high-end smartphones have built-in artificial intelligence, and good examples of this are the Samsung Galaxy S25, Google Pixel 10, and Xiaomi 15.

This is why AICore, available on devices running Android 14 or later and equipped with powerful processors such as Google’s Tensor G3 or G4 and the third-generation Snapdragon 8 and beyond, has emerged.

Its function is to manage the Gemini Nano's usage locally. In other words, this feature enables the smartphone to use Google's AI technologies without needing an internet connection.

- How do you know if your phone has this feature?

Go to Settings > Apps > View all apps, and look for "AICore" to make sure it appears in the list.

Despite its great benefit in enhancing your phone's artificial intelligence capabilities, it is not the ideal choice for those who suffer from a lack of storage space, as it may consume a large amount of space depending on usage and device type.

Deleting them also improves privacy, prolongs battery life, and provides extra space you might need.

How to free up space on your Android device by disabling AICore

Before starting the removal process, it is important to know that all local AI processing will be sacrificed in order to gain approximately 7GB of free storage space.

This means having integrated applications and functions such as translation, summarization, image editing, or other actions that are performed directly by artificial intelligence.

To do this, go to Settings > Apps > View all apps, find "AI Core" to access its information, and then click "Disable."

Next, click on the three-dot button in the upper right corner, then select "Uninstall updates."
