You need to turn on this secret feature in Windows 11... Close any program that isn't responding with just two clicks.

For a long time, the only way to close a program that crashed or stopped responding in Windows was to use the Task Manager. To do this, press Control + Alt + Esc on your keyboard, and then look for the program that wasn't running in the list. It's a simple process, but it's still very boring. Microsoft has finally released what I think is the best feature of the operating system after 30 years.

When everything is working right, we can close any program or window by clicking the X in the top right corner of the window. So far, nothing new. If this button doesn't work, we should look for other ways to close it, either from the Task Manager (if everything is working correctly) or by restarting the computer directly.

Now, with Windows 11 24/7, Microsoft has introduced a new feature that lets you instantly close any program that stops responding without any keyboard shortcuts. We'll only need two clicks to terminate any blocked process.

This new option appears under the name "End Task." You can find it in the context menu of the Windows taskbar. Simply right-click on the icon of the program that has stopped working to select the option shown in the previous screenshot.

The problem here is that, despite being one of Windows' most useful features, it's not enabled by default. What's more, it's hidden. So, to get you started using it right away, we'll explain how to activate it easily.

How to activate the "End task" feature

To activate this feature in Windows, all you need to do is access the operating system's settings menu. You can do this from Start > Settings or more quickly using the Windows keyboard shortcut Win + I.

Once logged in, we need to look for the operating system's developer options. These are located under "System > Developer Options." There, we'll see a series of advanced Windows options. But the one that interests us most is the one labeled "End task."

We activate it, and that's it. Once activated (and the computer restarted to ensure the changes are applied correctly), the "End task" option should appear when we right-click on any icon in the Windows 11 taskbar.

If we want to disable this option, we simply need to return to the settings menu we saw earlier and uncheck the box. It's that easy.
