The MIUI interface has recently come to an end. Xiaomi has said goodbye to one of the most popular and appealing customization interfaces in the Android world, following its switch to HyperOS.
Although many believed the true farewell occurred last year, one last stronghold has remained standing, preserving the MIUI name until 2026.
Over the past year, almost all compatible phones have been updated to the new system or added to the list of phones whose support has ended, in accordance with the company's approved update policy.
However, away from the media spotlight, one of the budget phone models continued to receive updates under the name MIUI 14. We are referring here to the Redmi A2 and its submodel +A2.
According to information in Xiaomi’s official security update list, support for the Redmi A2 and A2+ phones will end permanently on March 24, 2026.
This not only represents the end of the phone's life cycle but also the official closure of a historic interface.
However, it's important to clarify that the Redmi A2 didn't run the full MIUI operating system. In fact, it ran a lightweight version based on Android Go, lacking the in-depth customization, distinctive design, and advanced features that Xiaomi's interface is known for. Despite the MIUI 14 name appearing in the registration, the experience was quite different from the original version.
If we're talking about the true end of MIUI, that moment has arrived early. Models like the Redmi 10C, POCO M5s, and Redmi Note 10T received their last security updates in March 2025, effectively ending the interface's lifecycle.
