Google improves Android's security level. Find out more about the Identity Check feature that your phone will soon have

The security of our devices is very important, as we must protect all our personal information and prevent unwanted parties from accessing our social media or banking accounts.

That's why Google is planning to launch a new security feature in Android this year that you'll definitely want to use right away.

This security feature, called Identity Check, was recently rolled out to select mobile devices and will be rolling out to everyone later this year.

Identity check, when enabled on our mobile phone, will require additional biometric authentication to access some advanced resources on our mobile phone if we are outside of some trusted locations that we have previously configured.

So, before we configure identity verification on our Android phone, we have to configure a series of trusted locations: it can be our home, our workplace, near our home, or any place you want where you usually are.

When we are outside of these trusted locations, the phone will ask us for additional biometric authentication to access certain important settings, such as changing the device's PIN or biometric data.

For now, it's a feature that's currently being rolled out to Pixel phones running Android 15 and will be available on Samsung Galaxy phones compatible with One UI 7 in the coming weeks.

If you're wondering when it'll finally hit all Android phones, you'll have to wait until the end of the year.
