Here is this great tool to monitor anyone using the computer and take screenshots automatically
Just think for a moment: wouldn’t it be great if you could keep track of all the activities you have done on your computer? Even more so, keep a history of those activities.
This way you will know which program you have open at what time and also you will be able to check if someone else is using your computer.
Well, actually no operating system has this feature built-in. However, in this post we are going to talk about a cool tool that has the ability to automatically take screenshots of all the activities that happen on your computer. So, what I am going to show you is how to automatically take screenshots at regular intervals while working on your Windows computer and save them automatically in a special folder. Thus, you will have a record of all the activities you have done in the form of a set of images.
Automatic Screenshot is a completely free tool that lets you take screenshots of your current screen at regular intervals. You can set your own time intervals. Once the screenshots are taken, they are saved in PNG format to a dedicated folder. You can specify your own folder and even change the name of the screenshot to distinguish and select the screenshots based on the day, time, and year. If you want to take screenshots of a particular program or specific apps at regular intervals, you can do that too. You can even exclude certain apps from the screenshots. You can also perform a manual screenshot.
How to Use Automatic Screenshot
First of all, download and install the tool. The installation does not require any additional installations and is easy to use. After the installation is complete, the program will start running in the background. It will be available in the system tray for quick access. Right-click on the icon and you will get a bunch of options for quick actions. The screen capture feature will be enabled by default. You can also pause it for a specific period of time from here, as shown in the image. Then you have a quick option to take a manual screen capture and an option to set the time interval. Then comes the imagebrowser. Here in this screenshot browser, you can browse all the screenshots in a cyclic order. As shown in the image below, the screenshot thumbnails are organized based on date and time. You get options to change the viewing mode. One is the gridmode, where you will get larger thumbnails. You can even filter these screenshots.
Now, let’s take a look at the settings. Right-click on the program’s system tray icon and select “Edit Options.” Here, you’ll get a bunch of settings to tweak. First, you set the file name patterns. Under “File Settings,” you can set the default location for the screenshots. Next, you have the option to set the file name pattern.
Drop down the menu and you’ll get different patterns to choose from. Unfortunately, you can’t set your own pattern.
Finally, you have the image format and image quality settings. If you set the screenshot interval to 5-10 seconds, you might want to lower the quality and increase the compression. You won’t have any storage issues either. Next, you have settings for the apps you want to exclude from taking screenshots and the apps you want to specifically include.
Another great and important feature is the ability to ignore taking screenshots for specific apps and take screenshots for specific apps of your choice. All you need to do is just add the file name with the.exee extension or you can add the file title. In fact, there are a lot of settings that you can explore and customize the tool’s work according to your needs.
