Batteries are being destroyed by the most recent Android 16 beta. Some Users Are Charging Their Batteries Several Times A Day
Beta versions of operating systems are usually released first to testers because they can contain a number of bugs, and this was noticed in the latest available beta version of Android 16.
According to a large group of users, they are reporting that Android 16 beta 2.1 is causing their devices to drain their batteries incredibly quickly.
Beta 2.1 for Android 16 was released on February 27 in a non-critical beta, as it only included a series of bug fixes, but unfortunately it seems to have brought another issue along the way.
But a large group of beta testers took to Reddit to report that they were experiencing serious battery life issues after installing the beta.
However, a small group of users are reporting that the 2.1 beta fixes the rapid battery drain issue caused by the previous version. It extends to all Pixel devices that meet the beta installation requirements.
The battery drain is so pronounced that with somewhat limited use of the device, they have to charge it several times a day.
What's even more curious is that the accelerated battery drain issue was already reported in version 2.0 and was supposed to be fixed in Android 16 version 2.1, but it seems to have made it worse.
However, a small group of users are reporting that the 2.1 beta fixes the rapid battery drain issue caused by the previous version.
