Elon Musk challenges a world leader to a duel and forgets about Mark Zuckerberg
If you thought Elon Musk had run out of crazy ideas, you'd be wrong. Already known for his fiery statements, the Tesla and SpaceX founder has decided to raise the stakes.
This time, it wasn't a fight with Mark Zuckerberg—who, by the way, is still pending—but something much bigger: He challenged Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, to a fistfight.
This crazy bet came through his social network X—formerly Twitter—where the South African billionaire not only talked about his Starlink satellite system, which is key for Ukraine in its war against Russia, but also made clear how tired he is of the conflict.
“I’m tired of years of carnage in a stalemate where Ukraine is doomed to lose.” And then, as if that weren’t enough, he added, “Peace now!!!” But what really caught the eye was his suggestion: a physical fight with Putin to resolve the situation.
Just remember his famous fight with Mark Zuckerberg, where the two seemed about to get into a wrestling match. While that fight never happened, Musk has shown that he loves to keep everyone interested in his posts and potential actions. The big difference is that this time the context is more serious.
By then, many speculated that Musk was simply looking for publicity, while others believed Zuckerberg had lost interest after Musk backed away from fully committing to the fight with him.
Musk was indirectly involved in the war in Ukraine through Starlink, his satellite system that was vital to maintaining communications for the Ukrainian military.
However, in his recent tweets, he made clear that he believes Ukraine is in an untenable situation and that the war must end. He warned, "My Starlink system is the backbone of the Ukrainian military. Their entire front line will collapse if I take it offline."
Although it sounds like a joke, it sounds serious. But do you really think Putin would agree to a fight with Elon Musk? The Russian president, known for his toughguy image and his past in the KGB, is unlikely to make such a move. Moreover, Putin is 71 years old, while Musk is 52. It wouldn't be a completely fair fight.
