Google Play might make app downloads simpler. The store is undergoing experimentation by Google
Depending on our interests, we can download millions of apps from various app stores, some of which are free and some of which are paid.
Finding anything that grabs our attention and influences our decision to download it or not, however, is getting harder in increasingly crowded app stores.
Thankfully, Android Authority found that Google might be experimenting with emphasizing particular metadata in app listings in its store by examining a preview version of the Google Play Store.
As you can see, when you look through the Google Play Store's list of apps, you can see things like categories, ratings, and badges attached to them. However, because there is so much information available at once, many of these things are likely to go unnoticed.
But based on what they have discovered, Google is experimenting with emphasizing specific sections of all this metadata in app listings in an effort to draw users' attention and influence their decision to download the app.
Although these are very minor adjustments, they can add a personal touch and make it easier for users to find specific data without taking up additional screen real estate.
We will see if this makes it to the general public or not, as many experiments of this kind never make it to the Google Play Store.
