If you have these phones, congratulations. you will be able to connect to the Starlink network and get free internet starting this month

With SpaceX, Elon Musk's company, offering Starlink, a satellite internet service, internet connections have advanced. The network is designed to provide global coverage, even in the most remote locations, and will now allow some mobile devices to connect to its network for free starting in July. This opens up new possibilities for users looking to stay connected to the internet without relying on traditional infrastructure.

The only downside is that not all devices will be able to access this new service. So far, devices confirmed to be able to access the Starlink network include the following models from Apple, Google, Motorola, and Samsung:

- Apple:

iPhone 14 and later (including standard, Pro, and Pro Max models)

- Google:

Pixel 9 and its versions (Pro, Pro Fold, and Pro XL).

- Motorola:

Models to be launched in 2024.

- Samsung:

*Galaxy A14, A15, A16, A35, A53, and A54.

*Galaxy S21 series and above (including Plus, Ultra, and Fan Edition).

*X Cover6 Pro.

* Z Flip3 and above and Z Fold3 and above.

- How will smartphones connect to the Starlink network?

The Starlink connection will be automatically activated when the user is out of range of their usual phone network. At this point, the device will display “T-Mobile SpaceX” on the screen, indicating that the satellite connection has been established.

For the device to be able to connect to this network, it will be necessary to have the latest software version for each model (you will need to perform the new updates). The Starlink satellites will act as communication towers in space, providing coverage in the most remote areas.

For now, this feature will be limited to sending and receiving text messages, the option to share location, and access to emergency services like 911. In the future, it is expected to include voice calls and web browsing.

Starlink technology has revolutionized internet access in rural and remote areas, where traditional connectivity options are limited or nonexistent. Its network operates via low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites, located about 550 kilometers above the Earth, reducing latency and improving connectivity compared to traditional satellites operating at 35,000 kilometers. Musk’s internet service currently has more than 5 million users and about 7,000 satellites in orbit.
