Few people are aware that Samsung offers Samsung Auto, an alternative to Android Auto
There are some issues with One UI 7 throughout the Samsung Galaxy catalog. We are still finding surprises and features in Samsung's most recent firmware, though, even though its successor, One UI 8, based on Android 16, is already in the works.
Not in vain, we discovered that Samsung has already created a substitute for Android Auto with its own interface made to use One UI while operating our cars, courtesy of Reddit user Proshis_Saha_Swopna. This function appears to have been restricted to particular markets and regions of the Asian continent, such as China, despite the fact that it was undoubtedly related to agreements between Samsung and Google and their close cooperation.
It is important to remember that Samsung Auto can function both wiredly and wirelessly, with an emphasis on offering a One UI-like, albeit simplified, driving experience, should Samsung dare to introduce this in the rest of the world. Bixby actually controls a number of options while in driving mode, making it the main voice assistant.
Although the Samsung Auto interface is not visible in the vehicle, the screenshots that have been made public show a dashboard that resembles that of Android Auto, complete with a navigation tray, a second for music and multimedia controls, and a third smart widget that has an app launcher sidebar that shows up to four shortcuts.
Additionally, there is a very helpful Continuity feature that lets us enable cross-platform navigation from our phone to our car and back. After parking anywhere, we can continue walking to our destination, or we can plan a route from home before getting into our car.
Another intriguing navigation feature is displayed in the screenshots: Samsung Auto can swiftly navigate to any address or location information by extracting it from the messages we receive. A notification will show up even if we are driving, enabling us to turn on navigation to the detected and received address.
