The video editing app Edits, which is an Instagram substitute for CapCut, is now free to download

Since ByteDance, the company behind TikTok, also owns the app, we informed you three months ago that Meta was taking advantage of the US ban on its most popular mobile video editor, CapCut, to launch Edits, an Instagram video editor designed to bridge the gap left by CapCut.

Just a few hours ago, Meta declared on its official blog that the official Edits app is now free to download from the App Store and Google Play Store.

Edits is a "new video creation app that helps you create amazing videos right on your phone," as Meta described in the previously mentioned post. It combines all the tools you need to make video content for Instagram and other social networks into a single app.

Actually, there are a lot of features in Edits that will help you make and edit short videos, with three primary areas of focus:

Workflows are made simpler by the editing feature, which enables you to take longer, better photo shots (up to ten minutes), manage your projects with ease, share them straight to Facebook and Instagram from within the app, and even export and publish them to other platforms without watermarks showing.

- Robust Editing Tools: This new video editing app has features like auto-enhance, transitions and green screen effects, and a precise frame timeline with clip-level editing.

Data-driven insights: You can determine what is effective and what to try next by using adjustments, which give you real-time feedback on variables like skip rate that may affect how your content is distributed.

Edits is a completely free app that you can now download on your Android or iPhone device via direct links to Google Play and the App Store.
