Elon Musk, the man responsible for the deaths of the world's poorest children, is viciously attacked by Bill Gates.
Business titans Elon Musk and Bill Gates have long been rivals, but now the Microsoft founder has new grounds for attacking the SpaceX founder: he has canceled US aid to the world's poorest people.
The United States has been providing hundreds of millions of dollars annually to the world's poorest nations through an aid program known as the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) for decades.
Elon Musk is in charge of the Trump administration's cost-cutting efforts and has cut hundreds of science, medical, and environmental programs, as well as 80% of the U.S. Agency for International Development's budget.
Since a portion of USAID funding was directly allocated to providing food, medicine, and medical treatment to millions of poor people in Africa and Asia, it is logical to assume that without this aid, thousands of people, especially children, who are among the poorest, would die.
This is what Bill Gates criticized Elon Musk for in an interview with The New York Times. As head of DOGE, Musk is responsible for these cuts at USAID.
As for child mortality, it was supposed to drop from five million to four million over the next few years. Now, unless there is a significant change in this trend, the number is likely to drop from five million to six million, says the Microsoft founder.
Bill Gates admits he was shocked by the USAID cuts: "I thought it would be a 20% cut. Now it's an 80% cut. Yeah, I didn't expect that. I don't think anyone did."
The creator of the Windows operating system confirmed today that he will donate his entire fortune, estimated at $200 billion, to those in need over the next 20 years. When his money runs out, he will close the Gates Foundation on December 31, 2045.
Bill Gates accuses Elon Musk of killing thousands of poor children by canceling US aid. We'll see if the X owner decides to respond to the accusation...
