How to use a Windows feature to prevent USB devices from being used on your computer

Different types of USB devices are among the tools that allow us to store and move data between computers. Naturally, a collection of viruses and malicious software could infiltrate our computer during the transfer of this data, potentially destroying and disclosing a collection of private information.

As a result, it is advised that you assign your computer's USB ports by turning them off when you are not using them. Even if your computer is connected to a flash drive, it will never be damaged, even if the flash drive contains malware and viruses. This also holds true for external hard drives and other USB devices.

As seen in the image, you must first type regedit in the Start window in order to accomplish this.

After that, you will need to take the following route:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTE\CurrentControlSet\Services\UsbStor

Then click on Start and change the value to the number 4 as shown in the picture.

After that, you just have to save the modification, then restart your computer, then connect the flash drive and you will find that it cannot be accessed until you modify the modifications and change the value 4 to 3.
