According to Bill Gates, despite advancements in artificial intelligence, programming will remain entirely human in 100 years.
Numerous experts caution that many current jobs may eventually be eliminated due to advancements in artificial intelligence. Despite this, it seems that some private companies will continue to operate for at least another century.
Bill Gates held this view, claiming that even in 100 years, programming will still be a human-only profession despite developments in artificial intelligence.
"Programming will remain a 100% human profession, even a century from now," according to Microsoft's co-founder, who also thinks developers will continue to be crucial.
Bill Gates claims that while AI will be capable of handling a lot of predictable and repetitive tasks, it is not yet ready to take the place of human reasoning, which is required for creating complex code, spotting mistakes, and refining algorithms.
This is not the first time that Bill Gates has said this. As he has said before, artificial intelligence is far from replacing programmers, biologists, and energy experts.
It's interesting to note that his remarks run counter to those of other tech titans, like Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, who said that "coding is dead" and advised young people to pursue careers in biology or education instead.
Bill Gates aimed to emphasize the significance of maintaining human control over certain professions in the face of this negative discourse.
Furthermore, Bill Gates maintains that current tools cannot replicate the creativity or critical judgment of, say, an experienced developer in a situation where many businesses are using AI to partially replace their workforce.
