Instead of accessing websites, the OpenAI browser will be built to preserve some user interactions within a native chat interface akin to ChatGPT. It's also crucial to remember that, according to one source, this new feature is a component of OpenAI's larger plan to incorporate its services into customers' personal and professional lives.
OpenAI will be able to incorporate its AI agents, like the operator, right into the browsing experience thanks to the web browser. According to people with knowledge of the situation, this would enable the browser to carry out actions on the user's behalf. Additionally, since the browser can access users' online activities, it would be a perfect platform for AI agents to carry out tasks like booking reservations or completing forms on the websites they visit.
However, given that the same code serves as the foundation for Chrome and other browsers like Microsoft Edge and Opera, it has been revealed that the OpenAI browser will be built on top of Chromium, an open source project created by Google.
