Your phone will no longer have Google Chrome. These phones will not be able to run Chrome

This coming August, specifically on August 5, 2025, many mobile devices will stop receiving Google Chrome updates for a very important reason. This will be the date on which the new version of Google Chrome 139 will be released, which will bring many exciting new features to the mobile devices receiving it. However, it has a peculiarity: it will not be available for many mobile devices. Less than two weeks remain until this horrific moment for many.

The new Google Chrome 139 for Android phones comes with Gemini integration, new profile tools, fraud protection, and reduced connection delays. However, it's only compatible with versions of Google's operating system starting with Android 10.

Google Chrome 138 will be the last version of Google's popular mobile browser compatible with Android 8.0 Oreo and Android 9.0 Pie, which are currently available on older phones from 2017 and 2018. These two versions will no longer be compatible with Google Chrome on that date and will no longer receive updates from Google. For this reason, the company itself announced that in anticipation of the arrival of Google Chrome 139 for mobile devices on August 5, users must update their devices to Android 10 or later to continue using Google Chrome.

If your phone is running Android 10 or later, you'll have no problem enjoying the new version of Google Chrome and its new features. Currently, while many phones are late to receive the new Google browser update, many others will enjoy all the upcoming new features, some of which you're sure to be eager to try on your phone. Don't forget to update your phone and browser whenever a new version is released to receive all the essential new features and security improvements.
