Google's best NotebookLM feature is now available in Arabic and you can use it starting today

One of NotebookLM's best features is now available in Arabic. Google has announced a new update to Video Overviews, a tool that lets you create a captioned presentation from a document.

Google has updated the NotebookLM support site with a list of over 50 languages available for summaries, including Arabic, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. Users can choose their preferred language from the Settings > Output Language menu or select it when creating a video summary. Additionally, NotebookLM will use the default Google account language, reducing the number of steps required to change it.

Video demos were announced at I/O 2025 as a visual alternative to audio summaries. Video demos are similar to PowerPoint, but on a higher level, with AI generating everything, even the visuals. Simply specify the topic, learning objective, and target audience, and NotebookLM will take care of the rest.

How to create an Arabic video summary in NotebookLM

To create an AI-promoted video summary, simply open an existing notebook or create one in NotebookLM and upload the resources. This step is essential, as you'll need to have editing permissions to create the notebook. Once you're done, select "Video Summary" in the Studio panel to begin the creation process and let the AI create.

NotebookLM video summaries are created in the background, allowing you to navigate between other screens and create other types of material. After the process is complete, users can download the file in MP4 format or edit it to change other settings. You can also play it from the Studio panel; simply open an existing notebook and select the title of the summary you created to open the media player.
