Microsoft improves Notepad in Windows 11 with updated context menus
Notepad has been receiving a lot of attention from Microsoft in recent months, with the company launching new features, some of which are related to artificial intelligence.
While many of these changes, especially those based on artificial intelligence, may differ from the original version, Microsoft is also working on new, more traditional features.
A preview of Notepad in Windows 11 shows the introduction of redesigned context menus.
The new context menu reportedly includes common actions like copy, cut, paste, select all, and delete in the top row, providing quick access to your most used commands.
It's worth noting that the rest of the menu retains options such as Bing Search, Spelling, Summary, and others. These menus follow the updated design of Windows 11 24H2, which was previously implemented in 23H2.
Internal users can try these redesigned context menus, but end users can't yet, though they won't have to wait long.
In other words, with this seemingly minor change, Notepad becomes more closely aligned with the Windows 11 update, making it easier to access the most frequently used functions and bringing its design into line with the rest of the system.
