LG will be showcasing this ambitious home robot at CES 2026.
At the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026 in Las Vegas, numerous technology companies will showcase their proposals for future robotics. South Korean company LG is almost certain to be among the most prominent exhibitors.
The company is preparing to unveil its latest home robot to date, named CLOiD, a model designed to perform a wide range of household tasks.
According to a press release from LG, the technical design of this home robot prioritizes dexterity and precision. The CLOiD features two articulated arms, each powered by seven-degree-of-freedom motors, allowing for multi-directional movements that mimic those of a human arm.
In addition, each arm is equipped with a five-fingered hand that is operated independently, giving the robot a high level of control to handle even delicate objects.
The processor, located in the robot's head, acts as the central processing unit. The device includes a screen, speaker, camera, and a suite of sensors that enable it to navigate, perceive spatially in real time, and interact with the user through multimedia.
LG also notes that this new robot supports natural language processing for voice commands and includes features that allow it to respond with body movements, enhancing natural interaction.
The CLOiD robot integrates LG's "emotional intelligence" platform, which the company unveiled a few months ago. Thanks to this system, the robot not only relies on predefined commands but also learns from user behavior and adapts its responses over time.
It remains to be seen whether LG can achieve a breakthrough in the home robotics sector, an area that still needs to prove itself. But it's clear that if this device does reach the market, it will be affordable for a very small segment of consumers.
