Samsung is accelerating the Android 16 update for its phones Here are the Galaxy devices that will be updated first
Samsung is preparing to launch its One UI 8.5 user interface, built on Android 16 QPR2. Although the beta version is currently limited to the latest models, all indications suggest that it could be widely released within a few days.
The company has begun an internal testing phase on a large number of devices, indicating that a stable version could be available before the launch of the Galaxy S26, expected in early 2026.
In the Z series, the devices testing the update include the latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, as well as the Z Fold and Flip 6 and Z Fold and Flip 5. This ensures that both the latest generation of foldable phones and previous models are ready to receive the new update.
Furthermore, the S series will also benefit from this update, with all S25 models, as well as the S24, S23, S22, and the entire upcoming S26 family, undergoing testing. This ensures that its flagship devices maintain a consistent and stable experience upon update.
Regarding tablets, the tests include the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, Plus, and FE, as well as the entire Tab S9 series.
The A series is receiving special attention, as it includes a wide range of devices from the Galaxy A57 and A56 to the latest models such as the A16 5G and A17. This intensive phase of testing reflects a significant shift in the Android system update environment.
While Google has faced some problems in rolling out updates, Samsung appears to prioritize both speed and stability to ensure users can enjoy new features without compromising the reliability of their devices.
In this way, Galaxy phone users can expect even their older phones to receive the next major update sooner than they imagine.
