Another reason to install this Google keyboard app... a new feature is launching

Google is developing a new feature for Gboard that will allow emojis to appear larger, automatically adjusting their size to match the system font size. Until now, Gboard emojis only responded to the device screen size, not the font size, which limited their visibility when system text was enlarged.

Although emojis can sometimes seem repetitive or cumbersome, they remain an essential tool for expressing emotions and subtle nuances that words alone cannot convey. Using the right emoji can liven up a message or convey precise meanings, so adjusting their size to match the text size is a significant and useful improvement for users.

In Android, there are two main options for changing size: font size and screen size. While screen size enlarges all system elements, font size only affects text. Emojis, which reside in the space between text and graphics, don't always display intuitively with these settings.

With the latest beta version of Gboard, a new setting has been discovered that finally allows users to resize emojis to match the system font size. This option will be available in a new settings menu within Gboard, where users can enable emoji resizing.

Once this feature is enabled, the emoji sizes will increase along with the system font size adjustment, providing a clearer and more proportionate display in messages.

Currently, this feature only responds to changes in the Android system font size, not to the internal font settings in Google Keyboard (Gboard). This means that adjusting the font size on the keyboard will not directly affect the size of the emojis.

Google has not yet announced when this feature will be available to all users, but it is expected to arrive soon.
