This free program is as good as file recovery software and will permanently delete your files in Windows.
Many people know that data on a hard drive can be recovered even after it has been formatted. This is confirmed by file recovery programs that are able to recover a large percentage of files despite the hard drive being formatted. However, if you are ready to give up your computer running Windows 11 and want to sell it, you will need to delete the files from their roots, and we will share with you a program worthy of the task.
We will use the open-source Permadelete program, which you can download from the link below the post or from the Microsoft Store. It works on Windows 11 and Windows 10 as well. After doing that, you will log in to it.
What you will do is press one of the buttons at the top left, i.e. you can press SHREDD FILES to select a file or SHREDD FOLDERS to select an entire folder. Besides that, you can simply drag and drop, and what you will do specifically is add the files and folders that you want to delete permanently.
Immediately after doing this, a window will appear asking you to specify the number of times to write to the location where these files are saved (this means that the file will be deleted and replaced with other useless files so that the system is forced to delete the original file completely). It is recommended to choose the number 10 to increase the strength of the process and prevent the files from being recovered permanently. Finally, click on Shred.
This way the files will be permanently deleted, and you can confirm this by using a deleted file recovery program and checking if it was able to do so.
This might be helpful... These programs, in their latest versions, will help you recover all deleted files on your computer.
