Realme 16 5G came out... it's a phone with a mirror so you can take selfies with the back camera.
Realme came back to 200MP cameras in the mid-range smartphone market last month with the release of the Realme 16 Pro 5G and Realme 16 Pro+ 5G. These phones have brighter, more colorful pictures, which makes them great for taking portraits. The brand is expanding its new numbered series with the Realme 16 5G, which focuses on value for money and features an innovative design that includes a small mirror for taking selfies with the rear camera, not just the front camera.
Foldable smartphones allow users to take selfies with their rear cameras thanks to their design. The realme 16 5G also offers this feature, but in a completely different way. The base model in this series includes a selfie mirror, a small circular mirror located on the horizontal strip that acts as the rear camera module. When you make a gesture, a short countdown begins, allowing you to choose your pose before taking the picture. This feature aims to make group selfies more fun and easier.
As is typical with its numbered phone series, the Chinese company chooses different designs depending on the model category. While the Realme 16 Pro and Realme 16 Pro+ feature finishes and textures inspired by nature, especially in their attractive gold versions, the Realme 16 5G, in its white version, comes with a design inspired by the wings of the aurora borealis. The dynamic effect of these delicate wings is achieved through reflections of blue and gold, which change depending on the viewing angle.
The Realme 16 5G also differs from other Pro models in its camera module design, featuring a horizontal bar, a design element that gained significant popularity after the introduction of the Google Pixel and iPhone Air. It has a single 50MP rear camera with a Sony IMX852 sensor. The front camera also boasts the same resolution. Like the Pro versions, its image processing software utilizes LumaColor technology, which enhances color, adjusts lighting and shadows, and reduces noise in portrait photos.
Weighing 181 grams and measuring 8.1 mm thick, it boasts an IP69 Pro rating for dust, water, and harsh conditions resistance and features a 6.57-inch AMOLED display, giving it a compact appearance, with a 120Hz refresh rate and a local peak brightness of 4200 nits.
Its performance is based on a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo processor, and it comes equipped with the Realme UI 7.0 user interface and includes a 6550mAh Titan battery that supports 45W fast charging.
The realme 16 5G is available in white and black with 8GB and 256GB storage capacities and will be sold for €349, a launch price that will last until April 30.
