Update this Google app to get this important feature while connecting.
Android phones are now receiving a feature that makes calls more personalized and visually appealing. Google has introduced "Call Cards," which allow users to customize how they appear when they call, replacing traditional caller ID with a more personalized and distinguishable display.
Until now, when making a call, only the contact's name, number, and a small photo were shown. This new feature allows users to create a digital card that appears on the recipient's screen during the call. The card features a full-screen image as well as user-selected colors and text styles, making communications more modern, attractive, and personalized.
While Android previously allowed users to add large photos to specific contacts, this update completely changes the way it works. Now, each user can customize how their photo appears to others when they receive a call. Digital Trends explains that when this feature is enabled, the phone app will display a notification prompting users to create a personalized contact card.
Simply link your Google account, choose an image from your phone or Google Photos, and adjust the visual details, such as font type, size, thickness, and color. You can also specify who can see the card: only saved contacts or anyone you contact.
The feature has begun rolling out in beta versions of the Google Phone app and will be available gradually through updates. It will be released in phases, so it won't reach all Android phones at once. There's also talk of Google potentially expanding this feature later by adding animations or smart features.
