Some YouTubers Premium complain that they keep seeing ads in videos

The idea behind paying for YouTube Premium is to avoid annoying ads on the platform in the first place, right? That's what it looked like, at least until a few days ago, when subscribers to this service started seeing ads, even though they paid for the subscription.

This situation was reported by the Android Authority, which has compiled complaints from several users through Reddit. These posts show screenshots of Google Workspace and YouTube Playables ads.

Users point out that despite having a "Premium" logo at the top of the app, they continue to see ads, clearly marked as "promoted" or served as featured content within Shorts.

In response, Google told that "YouTube Premium subscribers should not see ads in their homepage feed." If this happens, they should contact support.

According to the YouTube Premium support page, the subscription lets you watch videos without ad interruption, before and during videos. In addition, third-party ads should not appear even during search.

However, the YouTube blog notes that it's possible to see brands or promotions embedded in the creator's content, such as promotional links or functionality added by them.

Google has also indicated that ads should not appear on all devices and platforms that you sign in with your Google account to those who claim, including smart TVs, game consoles, YouTube apps, YouTube Music, and YouTube Kids.

So far, Google has not clarified the origin of the problem and is working to find a solution.
