The OneDrive cloud storage service is installed by default on Windows, but most of us do not use it and it is often annoying as it starts with Windows and runs in the background, consuming the device's resources. Therefore, in this post, we will learn how to completely stop the OneDrive service.
The method depends on disabling it completely through the Group Policy Editor tool, and you can open it by searching for group policy in the Windows search field.
After opening the tool, double-click Computer Configuration, then Administrative Templates, then Windows Components, then OneDrive.
From the right side, click Prevent the usage of OneDrive for file storage twice.
A window will appear; select the Enabled option, then click the OK button to save the changes.
When you try to start OneDrive, you will get an error message and you will not be able to open it. If you want to reactivate OneDrive, set the option Disabled or Not Configured instead of Enabled.
