Verify whether this malware has stolen any of your information. A database containing 284 million hacked accounts has been published

In this day and age, we have several proven ways to find out if our personal data has been hacked or compromised online. Some web browsers today even have their own built-in tools for these tasks.

We can also use several password managers that tell us directly if any of our entries are compromised. All this is done so that we can update or modify this information as quickly as possible. Well, we’re telling you all this now because the popular data breach reporting service Have I Been Pwned has added over 284 million new accounts that were discovered to have been stolen.

All this has just happened because of malware focused on stealing information and was found in a Telegram channel. Moreover, the founder of the platform in question, Troy Hunt, claims to have found this huge number of hacked accounts while analyzing 1.5 terabytes of logs. It is likely that all this was collected from many sources and shared on a publicly available Telegram channel.

Specifically, a massive database directly affecting more than 284 million unique email addresses was found to have been compromised. In parallel, 244 million previously undiscovered passwords were discovered, and Have I Been Pwned is now updating statistics on another 199 million passwords it already had.

Given the large number of accounts in this newly discovered group, it is likely that the data also includes old and new credentials, possibly stolen through various types of attacks and data leaks.

Meanwhile, users can see if their accounts have been found among the discovered database records. You can do this simply by going to Have I Been Pwned and putting your email:

However, the platform will only show the websites from which our credentials have been stolen. They will not make this information public, as this could expose misuse of potentially sensitive services. However, this platform will again help us know which passwords we should change as soon as possible if they have been hacked recently.
