You can now use your fingerprint to secure individual WhatsApp conversations from prying eyes
WhatsApp allows the feature of locking the application as a whole using a passcode, fingerprint, or face, but the feature of locking chats individually was not available before, and now the company has made this feature available to enable users to lock chats individually to prevent curious people from viewing certain chats. So in this post we will learn how to use this feature
Chat Lock is only available in beta version 2.23.9.22 and will be available in the official version in the coming weeks. To enable Chat Lock, open the WhatsApp chat of the contact you want to lock, tap on their name, scroll down, and tap on the Lock Chat option. Enable the Lock this chat with fingerprint toggle.
Locked chats are hidden by WhatsApp from the Chats tab, but you can access them through the hidden “Locked chats” section that appears when you swipe down on the chat feed to reveal the Locked chats section. Use your fingerprint to open these hidden chats. As shown in the image. They will automatically lock when you return to the home screen.
Note: Archived chats cannot be locked and the conversation must be unarchived first.
This way you can lock a single conversation without having to lock WhatsApp completely or archive chats to hide them. But know that you can hide them from people only and not from God, so do not write or say what you do not approve of in your book.
