YouTube is renowned for experimenting with various design modifications, such as features that are exclusive to premium YouTubers. Occasionally, the user base does not approve of these changes.

The next time you open YouTube on your computer, you will probably be met with an unpleasant surprise: thumbnails that are significantly larger than you anticipated.

YouTube is testing a new desktop design with much larger video thumbnails. According to a post on Reddit, several users are complaining about the new homepage design being tested on the YouTube desktop app.

The user who opened the topic indicates that they can only see two videos per row, although this ultimately depends on factors such as screen size, resolution, and whether the zoom is extended or reduced.

If YouTube does end up including this design change on its desktop homepage, it could be considered a step backward, as some videos will be given a lot of focus while others may be forgotten due to less space.

But this isn't the first time YouTube has tested these massive thumbnails on its desktop homepage, having tested them with a small group of users seven months ago.

While Google hasn't forgotten about this experience, it's unlikely we'll see it available to everyone anytime soon.
