You will be shocked to learn how many teenagers in the US own an iPhone.

The majority of teenagers in Arab nations use Android, and they primarily use the TikTok app to browse the internet. In the United States, this is not the case. Teenagers there are ardent Apple product fans: almost 90% of them own an iPhone, and Instagram is their preferred social media platform.

In the same way that Nike has become a shoe icon and Billie Eilish a music icon, the iPhone has become a generational icon for young Americans. Additionally, it serves as a status symbol: You are poor if you own an Android phone.

More intriguing information that dispels myths about teenagers can be found in the Piper Sandler survey, which shows how much money American children can spend.

Although the majority of the world's phones are Android, 60% of Americans own an iPhone. However, 88% of teenagers own one, shattering all previous records. That is 22% more than ten years ago and three points more than a year ago.

It is true that a large number of them purchase used phones, or ones that their parents or older siblings no longer use. However, at least 25% are using new phones because they intend to upgrade to the iPhone 17 this year.

With 87% of users, Instagram is their preferred social network. 79% of their phones have TikTok installed, and 72% have Snapchat.

Teens enjoy using Uber as well. As an illustration of why young people are becoming less interested in owning their own cars, 76% of them use it.

Surprisingly, 31% of respondents say they own a virtual reality headset. Most people have some Meta Quest. The ownership of an Apple Vision Pro is less than 1%.

When it comes to watching movies and TV series, 26% of American children watch YouTube daily, and 31% watch Netflix. Just 1% of people claim to watch Apple TV+. It is ironic that almost everyone does not use Apple's streaming service despite owning an iPhone.

Teenagers in America look like this: Most people (nine out of ten) have an iPhone and favor Instagram over TikTok.
