Why we recommend disabling Meta AI in WhatsApp instead of using it

Many users are curious about the new technology that has been completely incorporated into the instant messaging app, WhatsApp, now that the Meta AI feature is available. They even question if using AI in the app is safe.

The most recent significant update to the Meta app was made only a few weeks ago. When you ask Meta AI anything, it will show up as a blue circle in the chat window and as a participant in the conversation on both iOS and Android devices. But what would happen if you wanted to turn this AI off?

Given that you can search for any information in a matter of seconds and even have a conversation if you would like, this could be very helpful to some users. However, security professionals are pointing out that it is actually a bad idea. For the time being, anyway.

The fact that AI is not encrypted is one of the first things that shows why it could be dangerous. The queries you pose or the data you send to Meta AI are not encrypted and can be stored, in contrast to other WhatsApp conversations.  Additionally, they will be examined for future AI training.

Furthermore, this most recent development is being hampered by other factors as well. For instance, because it is constant, it can also be bothersome. Even if you do not want Meta AI on your WhatsApp, it will always be there in the background because you can not turn it off.

It is not accurate yet, in addition to the latter. As a result, some of the responses you receive are deemed invalid. This is because the data used in its responses may be a little out of date. Additionally, the app uses more mobile resources—both internet and battery—when this artificial intelligence is present. This is yet another drawback that has been acknowledged, particularly by older smartphone users. However, what are you able to do?

Even though WhatsApp's AI cannot be disabled, there are still things you can do. Avoiding using it, or interacting with the AI, is one suggestion. To avoid it becoming permanently ingrained in your normal conversations, just archive it if it seems like just another conversation. Avoiding sending any personal information through chat is the best course of action.
