The shutdown is confirmed by Xiaomi. Support for these seven phones will end today and never return

With regard to Xiaomi, HyperOS 2.0, and system updates, the news is not entirely positive. The company has just updated its list of end-of-life phones, including seven new ones that will be permanently discontinued today. Starting in April, all devices on this blacklist will no longer receive new system and software updates and will no longer be able to fix any bugs or issues found.

Today marks the end of April, so starting tomorrow, you can forget about receiving HyperOS 2.0 updates, Android updates, or any future security patches. Not every device, of course. The list includes seven older models that, despite the bad news, were already known to be numbered.

This isn't something Xiaomi just made out of the blue or a last-minute decision: as the company's catalogue progresses, there are devices that must gradually drop support in order to ensure that the rest of the more modern phones receive the necessary attention from the software team.

However, it's always a bad idea for new phones to be blacklisted, as it means they won't receive any updates or other fixes, even if they're very popular and there are still a few thousand active phones around the world.

If you have one of these seven Xiaomi phones, you can forget about notifications announcing the arrival of new features in the form of updates:

- POCO F4 GT

- Redmi Note 11S 5G

- Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G

- Redmi 10A

- Redmi K50

- Xiaomi 11i

- Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge

Devices like the POCO F4 GT and Redmi Note 11 were among the company's best-selling devices. Unfortunately, they won't receive any further updates.

Well, as we say, it's always bad news when a phone loses support, but that doesn't mean it's the end of the world. All of these devices will continue to function the same way they do today, so just keep in mind that they'll remain exactly as they are now. If they have a bug, it won't be fixed. And, of course, they won't get any of the new features Xiaomi launched with HyperOS 2.0.
