WhatsApp's latest Android feature turns it into a scanner: The ability to scan documents

We can scan a wide variety of documents using the apps on our mobile devices, which is great because it eliminates the need to buy an external device like a printer.

Many document scanning apps are available in the official app stores, and some apps, such as Google Drive, already have this feature with excellent results.

Similar to how iOS users already have the ability to scan documents, WhatsApp hopes to join this feature and make it available to Android users as well.

Users of Android devices will soon be able to scan documents from within the app, according to Wabetainfo.

To find the option to scan documents, iOS users simply need to enter a conversation, tap the "+" icon, and then choose "Documents."

Users will no longer need to use third-party apps to scan documents when a comparable app for Android launches in the upcoming weeks.

There are two ways to scan documents: manually and automatically.

If you're in a hurry, the automatic feature is perfect because it instantly takes a screenshot and detects the document's edges.

The best option, though, is manual since it lets you comfortably frame the document to ensure that it looks great. You can make the scan so that the edges are hidden after you've taken the screenshot.

From there, you can share it in any conversation or save it directly to your device.
