How to create a video summarizing your documents using NotebookLM
After a while, Google finally decided to add a very useful tool to NotebookLM in Arabic. Summary videos are now available for creating more multimedia resources that help summarize information from all your chosen sources in an easy-to-understand format. We were already able to create a podcast from a PDF file using this tool, but NotebookLM now goes beyond that.
This new feature is new and is now available in up to 50 languages, including Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, German, French, Japanese, Italian, Korean, and more. So, it's possible to rely on NotebookLM's artificial intelligence to generate a video that captures all the key points of our research. Want to learn how to use it? We'll explain below.
There are a few things to consider before you start creating your summary video. The first is that the video language will be the language listed in your settings; Google usually selects the language you normally use. However, make sure you select the desired language in this section.
Second, you can either let NotebookLM automatically generate the summary video, or customize the prompts to better suit your preferences or needs. You can also do this through the three-dot menu for the Create Summary Video option.
Knowing this, we can now proceed step by step to create this very convenient multimedia resource:
- Create a notebook or go to a notebook you've already created.
- Add sources for the topic you want to cover; this is essential for the tool to work.
- In the right menu, called “Studio”, you will find the “Video Summary” option.
Set your preferences from the three-dot menu below this button, or let the AI do the work on its own.
- Select "Video Summary".
- Wait a moment while the AI generates the video; this does not interrupt any other activity in NotebookLM.
The created video will appear at the bottom of the Studio panel in the language you chose for your account.
Once you've created your video, you can play it from NotebookLM and even download it as an MP4 file. You can also share, rename, or delete it whenever you want.
You can create more than one video summary if you need to expand it or prepare multiple presentations on the topic you're covering. As you can see, this option will enhance your NotebookLM notebooks, providing valuable, easy-to-understand information.
