Thanks to real-time private translation, Google Translate is constantly evolving. Choose the language and put on your headphones to listen to it.

In addition to its capacity to fix mistakes when it enters learning mode, Google Translate's modifications add a previously undiscovered dimension because of the three new features that Google is incorporating.

It was updated in August to include Gemini's supported live translation feature, which lets you speak with people in different languages right away.

In addition to having our words translated into a different language on the screen, we have the option to play the translated text aloud using the speakers on our phones.

The live translation feature is the first modification. This mode will take you to a new page where you can initiate a conversation. The audio play and record buttons, as well as the two languages to translate, are located at the bottom.

We must turn it on or activate it in order to play audio, but soon we will be able to control playback by language.

Android Authority discovered that the volume play button has a drop-down arrow, and when pressed, three options appear: mute, speaker, and headphone.

These choices are obvious. The audio option enables private interpretation, whereas the standard mode makes the translation audible to both speakers and anybody else.

This implies that you can listen to the other person's translation in real time without interfering with background noise by sitting with them, sharing headphones, or using two paired devices.

Google Translate will be integrated with the Android XR smart glasses through the device selector, which is the second change.

The third change gives a new perspective to using Google Translate on your phone, where the Live Translate currently only works when using the app. The service just ends when you move to a different app.

Google integrates a persistent notification, similar to a Gemini Live notification when you move to another app, to address the limitations of its use within Google Translate only.

While switching between apps, the live translation service will be able to keep subtling in the background. You don't need to go back into the app to pause or resume live translation using this permanent button.

Thanks to generative AI, Google Translate has significantly improved this year. These are three major changes.
