This extension is extremely useful for detecting fake reviews while shopping online.

When we shop online, one of the things we tend to look at most is customer reviews and ratings. For example, when you buy something on Amazon, you can see the product reviews and ratings, and ultimately, you can analyze whether you're interested in the purchase. The problem is that we might encounter fake reviews. In fact, with the rise of artificial intelligence, this has become more common. We'll show you an extension that helps you detect not only potentially fraudulent reviews but also artificially generated text.

The goal is to be able to detect whether something was actually written by a person or, conversely, created using artificial intelligence. This can help you determine if an email is fraudulent, if a website is automated and designed to generate fake content and lure victims, or, as mentioned, whether the review was actually conducted by a human.

The extension in question is called AI Content Detector. It's available for Chromium-based browsers, such as Google Chrome or Brave. The first thing you need to do is install it. It's free, although you'll need to register to start using it (you can sign in directly with your Google account, if you prefer).

You need to go to the official website for the extension, and once you get there, click on Add to Chrome or whatever browser you have installed.

Once installed, a message will appear indicating that AI Content Detector has been installed. All you have to do is click on the extensions icon (in the browser toolbar), and it will appear there.

When you need to check whether text was generated using artificial intelligence, the process is very simple. You just need to select the text—whether it's an online store comment, a news story, an email, or anything else—click the small extension icon that appears next to the text, and then click "Scan."

If you go to the extension's page and look at the information, it indicates a success rate of over 99% and only 0.2% false positives. It has no usage limits, so you can use it whenever you want and analyze the entire text or just a portion of it.

One thing to keep in mind when determining whether a text was actually generated by artificial intelligence is that it's best to select a long text. The longer the text, the more content needs to be analyzed, and therefore, the higher the probability of getting it right and avoiding false positives.

At Majdouna Houhou for Information Technology, we tested this extension with numerous examples, and it performed exceptionally well. For instance, we tested over 10 Amazon reviews, along with news articles and some emails, and they indicated that they contained 0% potential AI content. However, when we tested it on another page, where it was clearly AI-generated text, it showed a value of 100%. In conclusion, at least based on our tests, the process was accurate.
