Be careful if you have this version of Office installed; you may no longer be able to get help.

Most software developers care a lot about the updates and patches they send to their customers on a regular basis. Microsoft and its Windows and Office suite are especially good at this.

These updates from the tech giant not only show off the newest features the company is working on, but they also fix security holes that have been found, which is very important in today's world. Also, most, if not all, Microsoft products have a date when they will no longer work.

In this case, the company sets a specific end-of-support date for this version of the productivity software suite, which is what happens now. In short, this means that when a product stops receiving official support, as happened with Windows 10 in October 2025, the best course of action is to install a newer version.

Since then, these older programs have ceased to receive support, and therefore no updates or fixes for emerging security vulnerabilities are provided. This poses a significant problem for computers, as they are constantly at risk, as is the data stored on them. We are informing you of all this because we now know that support for the Microsoft Office LTSC 2021 suite has ended.

In fact, the company itself recommends that users, especially for security reasons, update as soon as possible. The company confirms that support for Office LTSC 2021 will end in October 2026. Therefore, businesses and end users are advised to migrate to Microsoft 365 or the LTSC 2024 version.

Other Microsoft products will see their support period end in 2026.

At the same time, it's important to know that Microsoft will end support for many of its products this year, 2026. This includes important programs such as Access, Publisher, and Outlook Lite for Android. The company is currently informing its customers that this suite of applications will no longer be available this year, suggesting a secure alternative.

Specifically, this will happen on October 13, 2026. However, as usual, the programs in this version of Office will continue to function without problems. The biggest drawback, however, is that they will no longer receive security updates, bug fixes, or technical support from Microsoft.

This means that in the event of any problems, such as incompatibility issues, or if malicious actors exploit security vulnerabilities, Microsoft does not guarantee assistance or protection. This poses a significant risk to both end users and businesses.

For this reason, the Redmond-based tech giant has suggested several options for upgrading to a supported version, such as Microsoft 365 as part of one of its available packages. They emphasize that Office applications offer greater security, better management capabilities, and compliance with regulations.

Furthermore, and this is crucial, it includes integration with Copilot, can be installed on multiple devices, and offers near-instant dynamic updates after release. Moreover, for those who prefer a local version of Office, the LTSC 2024 version remains an attractive option with support extending until 2029.
