The most important feature that Google has put on your phones that you must activate now
No matter where you live in the world, car accidents are common and serious events that can take anyone by surprise. Quick action in such situations can save lives, which is why the use of technology is essential.
Many smart cars include Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, but not all of them have this feature, and there are complex circumstances where other methods must be used.
There's a built-in feature called Emergency SOS on both Android and iOS, so it's important to keep it enabled because in the event of an accident, it can be helpful to the authorities and even save your life in some cases.
How to activate the SOS emergency service on your Android phone
Using the SOS emergency feature in Android can be very useful to the authorities and to you, as they are more likely to respond quickly in the event of an accident.
To use it, you must first ensure you have Android 12 or higher. If you meet this requirement, you'll find the SOS emergency service under Safety & Emergency. All you have to do is access this option and tap the Activate SOS button.
This will enable all features, but you'll need to scroll down to the Emergency Actions section to check the box for calling emergency services. You can also use other features, such as sharing information with contacts or recording video, as long as you've linked your Google Account.
This way, when an accident occurs and you want to call for help and assistance, you press the phone's shutdown button several times.
If it doesn't appear for any reason, it's likely because you don't have the Personal Security app installed. This app is available on the Google Play Store and is responsible for integrating these features into your device's settings.
